Privacy
One address, one purpose.
If you join the list we hold your email address so we can tell you when Pouncer is ready. That is the whole of it. This page says so in detail, because "we value your privacy" followed by four pages of exceptions is not worth reading.
This site sets no cookies
No cookies, no analytics, no tracking pixels, no fingerprinting, and nothing loaded from a third-party server — no hosted fonts, no script CDN, no embedded video. Every file the page uses comes from this site. That is why you have not been asked to dismiss a consent banner: there is nothing to consent to.
The site is hosted on GitHub Pages, and like any web server GitHub records requests, including IP addresses, for security and abuse prevention. We do not have access to those logs and cannot connect them to you. See GitHub's privacy statement.
What we collect, and only if you offer it
Your email address, if you submit the signup form or email us. Nothing else — we do not ask for your name, your cat's name, your address or your phone number. If you message us on WhatsApp we will also have the phone number you chose to message from.
We do not buy lists, and we do not add anyone who has not asked to be added.
What we use it for
One thing: to send you occasional updates on Pouncer's development and to tell you when the crowdfunding campaign opens. Not advertising for anything else, not other people's products, and no automated profiling or decision-making.
Our lawful basis is your consent, which you give by submitting the form and can withdraw at any time.
Who else sees it
Today, nobody. The signup form is not yet connected to a mailing service, so it opens your own mail app and any address you send lands in an ordinary inbox we control.
When we do connect a mailing provider, that provider will process addresses on our behalf under a data-processing agreement, and this page will be updated to name them before the first message is sent. We will not sell, rent or share your address with anyone else, for any reason.
How long we keep it
Until you unsubscribe, until you ask us to delete it, or until the campaign is over and the list has served its purpose — whichever comes first. Unsubscribing removes you; it does not put you in a suppressed-but-retained list.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you can ask us to give you a copy of what we hold, correct it, delete it, restrict what we do with it, or object to it. You can withdraw consent at any time. There is no charge and we will respond within one month.
In practice, one line to hello@pouncer.uk saying "remove me" is enough, and you do not have to explain why.
If you think we have handled your data badly, please tell us first so we can put it right — but you have the right to complain directly to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk regardless.

Changes
If this notice changes materially — a new provider, a new purpose — we will say so in the next email rather than quietly editing the page and hoping nobody re-reads it.
